Khalid took the music industry by storm with the release of his debut album ‘American Teen’ back in 2017. The “Young, Dumb & Broke” singer has quickly become an overnight sensation, releasing hit after hit. Khalid managed to go from playing clubs and theaters to playing arenas in just under two years. Throughout those two years, Khalid has captured the hearts of millions across the globe. The fans truly have shown so much passion and love, especially on this tour. Following the success of his latest single “Talk”, which hit #1 on Billboard’s Radio Songs Chart, Khalid kicked off the Free Spirit World Tour on June 20th in Phoenix, AZ.

Khalid is the perfect example of a free spirit. While his debut captured a raw vulnerability, the follow up album truly sets the bar, offering an effortless R&B masterpiece. I was not sure how that would translate to a live atmosphere, but Khalid’s show is a complete vibe. There was an extremely mindless feel to the set. The show kicked off with “Free Spirit”, leading into some fan favorites including, “8teen”, “Twenty One” + so much more. Throughout the night, the show elevated. It only got better and better as the young star performed “Location” and “Talk”. We even had the opportunity to hear a few of Khalid’s collaborations, “Eastside”, which was originally recorded with Benny Blanco and Halsey + “Love Lies”, which was originally recorded with Normani.

One of the biggest highlights of the night was when Khalid took the time to talk about his musical inspirations. While most of the show was full of Khalid’s catalog of music, he took the time to perform a cover of “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac, admitting that this was one of his favorite songs. Having the opportunity to experience a Khalid show in an arena was something special. The fans have honestly made every part of this experience one to remember. Concerts are a common interest that bring people together, but Khalid has a special relationship with his fans. This tour was for all of the fans that screamed the lyrics at the top of their lungs and danced the night away. This tour is your chance to experience Khalid in a prime that will only get bigger and better. We can only imagine what is next!

The Free Spirit World Tour will run through August 17th in the states, closing at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida.
